Yoga

Hello everyone,

I used to blog under MEEW1977, but that is no longer my "handle".  I have chosen one that is more authentic to who I now am, not that I don't simply adore cats (hence the MEEW), but I am a Yogini at heart and always have been.

I am one of the 500-level teacher/therapist trainees at Gurukul and have been teaching Yoga for 3 years now.  I credit Yoga with changing my life, my mind, my body, and my spirit.  It has truly given me my authentic life and a connection to Self that is ever evolving and revelatory.

I study with other teachers, specifically Raji Thron at Yoga Synthesis.  And, am in gratitude to him.  But, I must say that Prashant and Manju, especially Manju, have guided me through many difficult times and through many painful changes.  Recently, my father passed away and the love and support from Manju and Prashant has been precious.  I am pretty exhausted and have faced challenges to stay focused and present on my mat and in my classes, but I am grateful for the blessings in my life - even the difficult times.  Why?  Because I have wonderful people in my life, so much love, so many opportunities, and Yoga.  What more could one ask for?

I speak only for myself in this blog.  And I am grateful that I have this space in which to practice, learn, grow, and to share.

I will be returning to the Sun Salutation class coming this July.  I know my "style" is slightly different, but I hope that everyone at Gurukul will enjoy.  I have missed everyone so much and look forward to coming "home".

Love and Namaste,

Ali
