It is critical to practice yoga regularly, but it is even more important to practice through the difficult times in life. The practice of yoga helps us heal on all levels, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. It is holistic, all-encompassing, and most importantly, transcendent. In the asanas we hold steady or flow depending on our need that day. In pranayama we connect to our breath, we channel, we let go, by becoming more aware. In meditation, we come closer to ourselves, or rather our true Self. This is imperative when life throws us for a loop. Yoga keeps us tethered to reality, to the fact that we are not this body, we are not these troubles, we are beyond these circumstances.
